To access the Internet you need a means of connection, such as dialup, broadband, or a wireless network. A dialup connection requires a modem, a phone line and a dialup account. A broadband connection requires you to subscribe to a broadband service with a provider such as Pipex. Connecting via a wireless network (such as the Bristol Wireless network) requires that you have a wireless network card and that you are within range of the network you are trying to access.
NetworkRange describes the coverage of the Bristol Wireless network. When connecting to the network, you are currently given access to the Internet via a 2Mbps internet link. This will most likely change in the future as funding for this link is only finite.
