Bristol Wireless Education
A large part of the Bristol Wireless mission is to develop and enhance the IT skills of the user base of our network and of our volunteers and members. We hope to do this through a number of initiatives.
Computing for Beginners
We have been running a course at Easton Community Centre since October 2003 for complete beginners. The course runs for 4 weeks x 2 hours and covers the introductory basics of using a computer. All participants are entitled to a free giveaway refurbished Bristol Wireless computer.
UNDP-APDIP International Open Source Network
The United Nations Development Program, through their subsidiary organisation the Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme, have set up the
IOSN to promote FOSS (Free & Open Source Software) and develop training materials for a variety of courses, which Bristol Wireless would like to deliver across Community Education facilities in Bristol.
