MATTERS ARISING
Traffic Shaping : Draft plan written. Kernel modules for filesharing being investigated. Jobs/Equipment : Bannerman Road was put up, but was vandalised.
BACKHAUL
We have a firm commitment from First Born Creatives to pay for a service from us. They will want the line as soon as the ECC gets cut off. Bristol Community Transport are also likely customers.
Contract (including SLA) will be drafted by Pete F. Rich will speak to potential clients. We will buy backhaul when we have enough contracts to break even.
MANAGEMENT
In order to get funding, we need to show we can manage that funding correctly. We need a list of job descriptions to help with this. Everyone needs to fill in the questionnaire and write their own job specs. Results to be emailed to amy@bristolwireless.net.
TRAINING
Training course starting this week at St. Werburgh's, and one next month. We have been given the IT suite at the ECC for the next 3 months. Courses and open access will run from there.
FUNDING
A bid for £50k is in the pipeline for costs, and £20k/year (3 years) for a paid worker. Some funders require a full audit. We should be OK with our audit from an outside organisation.
£50k available for refugees projects. We will offer courses giving them a BTEC. Bid going in soon, and we are hopeful.
VIVALDI PROJECT
We need to connect to Windmill Hill and Knowle. We are looking at 5.8GHz equipment for this. Equipment needs to be purchased ASAP. Tall Paul has agreed to do a financial forecast.
WEIRLESS
Costings need to be submitted to Steve Fisher. We also need to confirm usage of the lighting pole.
