MATTERS ARISING

  • Accounts : Almost complete. Some things missing/required to complete. Tasks assigned to complete by next month. Sean to talk to BACEN about auditor.
  • AGM : Second weekend in April (Saturday 9th) at Bannerman Road School. Morning will include technical (how the network works, and how it's used) and management workshops. To include how we are moving and how will we move forward? How can we make money? We should get a few agencies in who help people like us with the actual running of the business.
  • Backhaul : Matt Hamilton at Netsight looks after BMEX. He is happy for us to resell if we so wish. BMEX compares favourably with SDSL from leading providers. We can connect to BMEX wirelessly at The Watershed, and pay in arrears to help with our funding from reselling. Derek Pickup (ECA) was given the low down on this, and he is keen to be involved. Inty currently supply bandwidth to ECA, and they were interested in using us as their supplier. It seems that we may not be able to sort this in time for the end-of-year when the budget is spent.
  • Training ERN / Bannerman / ECC :
  • Fundraising Update : £9000 applied for from GBF.

NEW BUSINESS

  • ECC : We've been offered ECC IT suite to manage from 1st April. We will be required to provide the training, and support/development of the IT suite.
  • Helpdesk : We've been asked to provide a Linux helpdesk for a pilot scheme of 10 users. This is first line support from 9-5. Need to investigate what market rate is (Rich/Sam will do), and how much they are prepared to pay us. Market rate for an engineer is around £350 per day. On average, there are 21.75 working days per month. Market rate for an engineer each month is therefore around £7600. One helpdesk operative can service around 180 users. This makes charge per user around £42 per month. Andy arranging 0845 and 0870 numbers. We could also arrange a premium rate number for non-contract support.
