MATTERS ARISING

  • Knowle Update : Having issues with QoS. They are currently banning MAC addresses to get round this.
  • Computers At Old Coop : They are heavily used, so we have let them keep our machines for the time being on a loan basis.
  • Voscur for Health and Safety : Voscur are unaware of any health and safety courses involving climbing on roofs! There are general Health and Safety courses (Action : Rich to buy poster).
  • Insurance : During phone conversations when applying for the insurance, roofs were discussed, and this was stated as not a problem (Action : Sean to check).
  • Grievance Procedure : Jim has found a few on the Internet, and all are the same as our current one. Everyone to read and make amendments as appropriate.
  • Knowle Social Night : We will invite them to our Christmas bash.
  • Wiki Server Page : Is now up to date.

SUGAR CRM

Looking for an open source ticketing system for the Linux helpdesk. This is free, and installed on the Asterisk server. It's a work in progress, but seems to work very well. Most of our contacts are in there already. An update will be given next month (Action : Sean).

BANNERMAN ROAD SCHOOL

Wired 14 houses, installed 7. A few still waiting for the POE kits. New hardware is faster, and is being deployed appropriately. Two have been earmarked for Twinnell House, which will be reused for the Bannerman Road project. The head needs calling to communicate with the parents as to what we would like them to do (Action : Sean). Current batch to be completed by the next meeting. We will attempt another 10 installs.

SOCIAL SOURCE

Sean, Matt, Rich, and Mike (Psand) went last year. It's a meeting for voluntary groups promoting Open Source software. They have asked us back to head a session, but we can't do this in the time left (8 days). Entry this year is free.

PURCHASING

We have agreed to buy the following:

  • 8 ADSL PCI modems
  • A PCI graphics card
  • 2 USB hard disk caddies
  • Extension cables and 6 way extension leads for power supplies on the LTSP suite
  • 12v PSU for LTSP suite
  • 3 UPS for tower blocks - SNMP managed!
  • 20 PCI ethernet cards (PXE compliant)
  • A DVD writer

BEAUTIFICATION BUDGET

Meeting has taken place, and a plan was due to be submitted. They have stalled for 3 weeks due to staff leave, but will get back to us in the next few days. Agreed to offer £400 for their services, and limit print costs to £200.

RONJA BUDGET

Linda as Scarman trust may be able to fund this (Action : Rich). Cube is a possible venue, as is ECC.

EVENING POST

We had contact from the parent company of the Evening Post about getting involved. We should approach them about publicity for forthcoming events. We need to respond to them about this (Action : Sean).

ELECTRIC DECEMBER

The 90 second film promoting our work is complete. A condensed version is also complete and has been submitted to Electric December.

LENDING AND SELLING HARDWARE TO VOLUNTEERS

We have agreed that surplus hardware can be loaned to volunteers.

AOB

  • Princess Royal Gardens : Invoices need to be submitted to close accounts on this project.
  • ECC : We need to get 60 people a month through the door. Advertising required to achieve this.
  • Christmas : We will meet on Tuesday 20th December at The Chelsea.
  • Network South Bristol : An initiative to network the city through physical links such as cycle tracks, and a wireless network. Money due in 2007, and we will submit a proposal to do this for them.
  • Legible City : Pete has met the people involved. It's being extended towards this area. They are keen to get involved and produce a mapping toolkit. Funding may be available.
  • Tenants Resource Centre : Sean will action pressure on Holroyd House to respond.
