MATTERS ARISING
- Job Spec : Many now completed. More to come.
- Vivaldi : Equipment specced, needs to be purchased. Windmill Hill is our desired choice for a repeater.
- Bannerman Road : Lloyd to lead installs. Insurance cover has been purchased for installs.
- Buying DSL : Order placed today for St Werburgh's. Still waiting for ECC migration authorisation code (due within two days). Invoice sent to Chirs Pickering for a year's connectivity, half was paid today, other half due next month. Rich to talk to Psand about hosting. No change on The Chelsea.
- Weirless : No change.
- PC Costs : Laptops to be sold for £100 (£50 concessionary rate). Sean to write Wiki page for people to know how to get one.
- ECC Proposal : The council cannot guarantee this as new owners take over in October. We should hand a letter explaining our work to the council who will pass this onto the new people. Ben will write to the council to confirm that we are interested in being in the ECC.
- Offsite Backup : No update.
PROJECTS UPDATE
- Updates : We should meet on IRC to keep on top of projects. IRC at 20:00 every Sunday.
CENTRAL SERVICES BUDGETING
We need to protect Bristol Wireless as a whole financially. All projects that are budgeted in the future should include a buffer of 20% to cover core funding. Each bid must be approved by Julian before sending out to ensure it is profitable.
ACCOUNTS
We have an income of over £28000 secured in the first three months of this year. Provided all runs to budget, we should have over £5000 left for core costs at the end of the year. This should be more than adequate. It was agreed to buy tea bags and possibly biscuits for the office. We need a full audit for some funding applications. We shall get a full audit of our books to cover this. Julian will find out costs for doing this, and it shall be agreed at a later date. The lay audit has been cancelled by unanimous vote.
LIMITED COMPANY
Many people have asked when Bristol Wireless will be able to employ people. We can either carry on as we are, or try to branch off and employ people as a commercial venture. We shall continue as a community cooperative until we find good reason to change.
EGM
AOB
- Mailing List : Ian and Jules to be added to daily grindstone list.
- VOSCUR : There is a chunk of money for ICT services. They have a business plan to provide services, which includes employing one person. They will be responsible for improving ICT systems in the voluntary sector. Bristol Wireless pitched to take the place of this employee, and asked for a place on the table every time this is discussed.
- Big Green Gathering : Lloyd would like to go to do the LTSP project there.
