MATTERS ARISING

  • Knowle/Vivaldi Update - Still issues with the ADSL modem installed at the park, Lloyd is addressing this with Jon Elms. Initial site surveys undertaken at Dove Street and Holroyd, John Palfrey (?WestCom) says Dove Street provides avery large footprint for the signal, making Twinnel obsolete. The shadow cast by Twinnel could be overcome by siting on highrise at Barton Hill, and Twinnel gradually phased out. Lots of work done on constructing the required kit, photos to be uploaded to strummer asap.

  • Costs - John has said the kudos of being involved and the expected attendant publicity offsets the cost, but he is doing a lot of work inc. Risk Assessment, Work Scheduling, Installation and Pat Testing amongst other things. Need to find out what sort of budget he's working to so we can recompense him (ACTION: Rich) .

  • Other - All needs to be written up and presented to Graham Bradshaw @ BCC and tenants groups. Work needs to commence on LTSP solution for tenants groups.

  • Ronja Update - Need £1000

  • Bannerman Road School - Quartet want a update asap, contact with school needs to be re-established (ACTION: Sean)

  • Xmas - Need a e-card list to send out Seasonal Greetings with URL to ED05 mov, and our movie. Xmas Do at the Chelsea Inn Tuesday December 20th 4pm to 8pm with food (donation gratefully accepted) - Music from 8 if anyone wants to carry on! Invite Knowle West Web.

  • Social Source - One Day conferrence attended by Pete, Rich, sam and Matt very successful in terms of networking with httpSS in London and httpMOST in Birrmingham. Social Source want us to host their sites and lists - some discussio about creating UML or BSD jails on strummer, might need extra IPs.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT ISSUES

Very important that we document everything we do, we have lots of ways of making a record of our activities, even if it's just an email to the DG.

Lloyd is going to organise a class on network infrastructure and how the APs are configured and support it. There is a real need to disseminate the information through the organisation.

The projects need more Management + Direction. We will set up Project Management pages on the wiki for each piece of work.

VOLUNTEERS

first step to making our Volunteer recruitment sustainable should be a Volunteer pack.

ECC UFI BID

Agreed to bid for the extra £9000 to fund the Egoverment initiative.

AOB

Poster needs to be returned to Paul because of proofing error

DATE OF NEXT MEETING

Date has been changed to Jan 10th, the second Tuesday to allow people to recover from Holiday.
