MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

All agreed the minutes of the last meeting were accurate. Sean pointed out that the comment about Byteback was made by Sam.

MATTERS ARISING

  • Backbone : 5.8GHz is better with the new cards. 2.4GHz isn't supporting more than one user.
  • Festivals : One LTSP suite has arrived back, the other is due back soon. Woodsy asked for people to write updates for the News page. People are up for doing this again next year. New LTSP image is working more reliably with more cards. Mike is happy to loan the laptop for the rest of the month, and may be willing to sell the laptop to Bristol Wireless if interested.
  • Bannerman Road : No update. Sean, Sam and Lloyd will sort out.
  • Superhighways : Sean suggested going to do a site visit. They didn't like the quote we gave them.
  • Cinelerra : Course went well. Ben would like to run again, but there is no budget.
  • Digital Challenge : There was a meeting at ECC, there will be another.

REPORTS

  • Investing In The Phone Coop : Delayed to next meeting.
  • Submitting Invoices On Time And With Sufficient Information : Invoices should be submitted each month, explaining the hours worked, dates worked, and the budget it should be paid from.
  • Contributing To Digital Bristol Bid : Sean is organising a meeting for first week of September. This meeting will define how Bristol Wireless are involved, both immediately and in the future. Immediately should include finishing the backbone.
  • Performance Improvement Actions : Where we are, and where we wish to be is now documented on the Wiki.
  • Hardware Suppliers : Delayed until next meeting.
  • Beef Questions : Ben and Rich will sort out the designs, and ensure they deliver.
  • Climate Camp : People are interested in going. To be discussed at a later date.
  • UPS Purchases : Rich will take the one we have back, and get two 600VA UPSs. Matt thinks we need one or two 1.2KVA units. Andy will try and source.
  • Trinity Centre Server : We're giving the Trinity Centre a server. Needs moving to the office, data wiping, then moving to the Trinity Centre.
