UPDATE ON LAST MEETING
ERN: Payment at end - meeting to be setup to discuss. 7 now on network. Paul doing last 3.
MATTERS ARISING
Website: Too technical? Rachel is going to help making it more user-friendly. Need a website meeting (3-5 in the lab 19th Oct).
Wikis: Private Wiki is for sensitive information. Everything else on the public wiki. Navigation should be thought about!
Span Nov 6th: We have been asked to talk about and demo the project, Linux and wireless.
AOB
Meeting Venue: Trinity Hall offered as meeting place for *free*! Looks like a great money saving idea. Would be a good idea to take the 3rd Tuesday too for sub-meetings. Rich to ask if it's possible.
Business Issues: Accounts are due, as is £60 yearly registration. Auditor should cost £60-80. AGM will be on 18th January.
Annual Report: We should create one (started on the public Wiki) to tell the world what we have achieved in the past year, and our projected status for next year.
Knowle: City Council have money from the Vivaldi project to turn the park in Knowle into an Internet gateway for 50 homes around the old school. They would like us to be consultants on the project. No idea of how much is on offer for us, but we have already suggested connecting them to the current Bristol Wirless network. They need to find 50 homes, and a solution similar to our Bannerman Road project using ex-City Council machines.
Build It: Seems to have slowed down, so we need to organise people to build the Bannerman Road machines. We have one month to complete the builds.
Funding: We did not get Sutton Trust money, but did get £7000 from the Greater Bristol Foundation Local Area Network fund to buy hardware for Bannerman Road School.
Public Service Broadcast: Perhaps we should bid to be the public service broadcasters. Bid is worth £300million each year, spending £200000 per hour on programming.
Video Multicast: Needs to be fixed. Technical group to fix.
