Minutes of previous meeting approved --- 1.Report Back:
- Twinnel House
Now we have the go ahead for the Twinnel House transmitters several roles have been agreed to move the project forward, these titles are just identifiers so we know who has volunteered to move things forward :)
Project leader is Tall Paul
Tech Director is Matt
First Born Creatives have asked to document the project
Money to buy relevant equipment should come out of the ERN budget
- Content Development
A group dedicated to putting content onto the Bristol Wireless network both obtaining material and organising delivery has been set up to carry on from the good work of the Demo Day.
Possible interests: clarify copyright of currently held content, promote creative commons licence. Report back on progress at next meeting
2. Finance:
We are a bit at a loss about the finances without a regular Treasurers report. Jason has been very busy - getting married AND moving house - and we have lost track of how some agreed budgets are being used. Need to have a "finance only" meeting to sort things out. We are only dealing with small sums at the moment but we don't want it to get out of control.
A lot of people had small expenses related to the Festival which still remain unpaid, and noone has paid for their tshirts
Wiki Page has been created where you can enter what you think you might be owed, or anything you know of owing to the Co-Op -

3.Courses:
Current Course: Agreed to approach groups with existing Community Education structures to manage and promote the Bristol Wireless Introduction to Computers Course. Agreed to have one last attempt using the current structure, Nigel is organising promotion and recruitment - course begins July 22nd(?)
Other course ideas: Loads of these, Paul would like to do an office only course, we can contribute to opensource ECDL development projects, and we would all like to find a way to do LPI certification with some training.
Portable teaching suite: Been offered a donation of low spec laptops that could be adapted to provide a mobile training facility running LTSP from a sourced/donated higher spec laptop.
4.Fundraising:
Sure Start: Possibilty of getting some cash along with the delivery of a course for Sure Start - Ben has posted the details here -
http://docs.psand.net/twiki/bin/view/CLAN/ClanSureStartOverall: we need to sort out our fundraisng strategy quickly. We will need about £4000 just for kit and rollout for Bannerman Road School Project - we should be looking at implementing our Action Plan (which also requires more development!)
Action Plan for Future fund raising : agreed to have a meeting devoted to troubleshooting our fundraising strategy
5.Website
Lots of diffrent ideas and suggestions about the website and how it can be organised, needs to reflect the level of activity actually going on. Meeting required for interested parties to thrash out a strategy.
6.AOB:
Workhops: As we are committed to having so many subgroups and projects it might be interesting to run a day of workshops somewhere like the Cube to build strategy and action plans and enthuse and encourage interested people who have perhaps been on the periphery before.
Placements: we are now in a position to offer work placements as part of Future Wests "Pathways to Work" scheme, we have decided on 4 initially and will monitor the situation.
Date of Next Meeting : Tuesday 3rd August
