Background
PeteFerne has spoken to GeorgeFerguson several times about this over the last year. George has already said that he is willing to go ahead. Since he already has broadband connectivity and wifi within the building there has been a lack of urgency around the project.
With the new BMEX connectivity we are now in a position to go to George with a much stronger proposition, namely that we could get the Tobacco Factory onto BMEX - probably replacing the existing connectivity. This would mean:
- Fast symmetric Internet connectivity for the Tobacco Factory and the businesses there;
- Even faster connectivity (10Mbps symmetric) with everyone else on the BMEX and Bristol Wireless, including Watershed, Cube etc. and the Paintworks (once that's confirmed) and hopefully the Old Sorting Office too.
Not wishing to be proprietorial or anything but, having already started the conversation, it would be good if BW people could run stuff by me (PeteFerne) before contacting George directly.
Funding
The cost of installing a connection will be approximately £300 (final sum subject to site survey). It may be possible for the venue itself to fund this. More detail to follow soon...
