Wireless Werburghs

This is a project to connect people in the immediate vicinity of St Werburghs and Malcolm X community centres to our wireless network.

Due to the nature of the project participation is by invitation only. We have already contacted people who are eligible.

Project participants will be offered a reconditioned computer (normal resale price £50) and 1 year's internet access through our wireless network.

We will ask project participants to complete the first time online assessment that is offered by UK Online, this will allow us to advise people about what further training is appropriate. We also expect project participants to undertake further online learning. We will be supporting the home-based learning with regular home visits.

If you are completely new to computers, then please try httpthe beginner's guide from the BBC.

Everyone who takes part in the project needs to complete the httpFirst time online assessment. If you do fill out the assessment please fill in our centre number which is 3420062. It is suggested that you use your first name and surname as the username and 'wireless' as the password.

Participants will also be asked to fill out an httpe-skills passport using code B6FB-4B7A-B971.

Finally participants will need to do a httponline survey the St Werburghs Centre: unique id number/user name = 25.

The project is also expanding into the St Pauls area WirelessStPauls there are also a Limited number of free computers available.
