This Wednesday Bristol Wireless volunteers were treated to a hands-on ‘birdspotting’ workshop, aka using satellite communications, with Mike Harris of psand.net.
As its ‘last of the summer wine’ expedition this year, Bristol Wireless’ mobile LTSP suite paid a visit to Truthfest at Radford Mill Farm in Timsbury.
The first Connecting Bristol Momentum meeting took place on Tuesday 13th September at the Watershed. This was the first group meeting since hearing back in July that Bristol had made it through to the top 10 finalists in the government’s £7 million Digital Challenge.
The Knowle West Web network has now been successfully connected to the Bristol Wireless backbone.
In various sizes and disguises, Bristol Wireless’ mobile LTSP suite has been on its summer holidays again this year, taking in the Global Village in Kent, the Big Green Gathering in Somerset and the Climate Action Camp in North Yorkshire.
After a great deal of toil, testing and tweaking, the new Bristol Wireless 5.8 GHz network backbone is now stable and is almost ready for service since it is considered to be at the pre-production stage.
On Friday 4th August a team from BBC Bristol’s Points West filmed a piece on Bristol’s Digital Challenge bid.
Ben Green of Bristol Wireless is organising an introductory course on video editing with Cinelerra at Easton Community Centre in Bristol in July 2006.

We didn’t arrange a date or time for this so I’m going to unilaterally suggest 6.30pm – on Monday 8th March in the ICT suite at Easton Community Centre, (although venue will have to be confirmed).
I suggest Tuesday Jan 13th for the next meeting – 6.30, I’ll start writing an agenda up on the wiki, and we need to have a proper AGM, so we could plan it for Febuary at the January meeting.
